Each episode focuses on a different team of grifters who carry out a long con often targeted at a certain particular mark. Their activities are also illegal and or immoral, whose characters retain fundamental negativity towards others they don’t like, but still give credit to the fact that ‘you can’t cheat an honest man.
The team, although full of cons, also display a code of honesty by helping people (most former victims of their con) and also not stealing what doesn’t belong to them but instead borrowing it for the con then returning afterwards. The entire show is exciting but serious and has a way of keeping the audience trapped, making it a top recommendation for anyone that enjoyed leverage.

Person of Interest is an American science fiction crime drama TV show that first aired on CBS in the United States from September 2011 to June 2016.
The series centres around a group of people gathered by a billionaire reclusive computer programmer who developed a computer program known as “The Machine” which collates all sources of information to predict terrorist acts and even identify people planning them.
The program was discarded by the government, but Harold Finch (the billionaire programmer) gradually gathered the team by first recruiting a former CIA agent to help him investigate a criminal identified by the machine.
The series has 5 seasons and 105 episodes making it one of the longest action-packed sci-fi tv shows like leverage.
The Blacklist
The Blacklist is a thrilling mysterious action crime drama based in America that premiered on September 23rd, 2013. Created and written by Jon Bokenkamp, the series has a total of 8 seasons and 179 episodes. It was renewed for the ninth season on 21 January 2021.
This is a crime thriller television show that follows a former naval officer who became a high profile criminal wanted for years, and continuously escaped the grip of the FBI until he voluntarily surrendered and provided a list of the most wanted criminals in the world and how best to deal with them in exchange for immunity.
Queens Of Mystery
A British murder mystery comedy-drama television series created by Julian Unthank. The series is set in a fictional village called Wildermash, England.
The series centres around a young detective who was posted at the constabulary in Wildermash, where she reunites with her three well-known crime novelist aunts who help her solve mysteries and bring down criminals as well as set up blind dates to keep her relationship-work life balanced.
The show started in 2019 and although filming was affected by the outbreak of Coronavirus in 2020, the series still continues. It has just one season and 6 episodes full of mastermind intelligence, friendship, mind games and a little bit of humour.

An American drama television show produced by Fox 21. It was created and executively produced by Matt Olmstead and Nick Santora, who previously worked together on Prison Break (another hit tv series).

Banshee
Banshee is an action-packed crime thrilling drama created by Jonathan Trooper and David Schickler. Consisting of four seasons with a total of 38 episodes, it was aired from January 11, 2013, to May 20, 2016, with a run time of 43 to 59 minutes per episode.
The series centers around a man who is an enigmatic ex-con who on moving to a new town (Banshee) in Pennsylvania has to assume the identity of the town’s murdered sheriff to hide from a crime lord whose daughter is also in love with him.
He has to keep the balance of his new identity while also engaging in minor crimes with his partner and finding a way to get back with his lover.
Criminal Minds
Criminal minds is a 2005 American television series created by Jeff Davies. With 15 seasons (324 episodes), it was released from September 22nd, 2005 to February 19th, 2020 with a runtime of 42 minutes per episode.
The series entails a group of criminal profilers working with the FBI as members of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). Using profiling to solve and investigate crime, they also use behavioural analysis to track down and find Unknown Subjects (UnSub), the team’s code name for criminals and perpetrators.
Throughout the film, we watch as their stories unfold and how each team member deals with personal struggles even as they work out various criminal cases. The show did an impressive 15 years-long run on CBS (2005-2020) and grossed as one of CBS most-watched series. This TV show was created by Jeff Davis as one of his masterclasses.
Good Behaviour
Adopted from the book of the same name, good behaviour portrays a female protagonist who is also a con artist and a thief fresh out of prison.
Her life continues in the usual bad turns and wrong decisions from implosion the way she likes it until she hears about a hitman who is hired to kill a man’s wife. In the cause of helping, she entrails herself being involved with the hitman.
The show which aired in November 2016 on TNT and later renewed for a second season in January 2017, was cancelled in November 2018. But still remains a top pick if you are looking for series like leverage.
Prison Break
Prison break is an American serial drama television show that centres around two brothers, one wrongfully accused of murder and sentenced to death while the brother device a plan to break him out of prison before he is unjustly killed.
The series was created by Paul Scheuring and aired on Fox for its full 5 seasons. Although turned down by Fox before, they decided to take it up later in 2004 and to much acclaim received positive reviews by critics and universal acceptance from fans.
These TV series are the closest you would get to leverage, as they are equally exciting, suspenseful and even realistic. They give almost the same thrill as Leverage and some even better. So I advise you to grab your popcorn and venture into the land of adventure with these movies.
